Credo che il tratto di strada che le sinistre potrebbe percorrere insieme prima di giungere ognuno nella sua terra promessa sia, purtroppo, molto lunga. A volte sembra un gioco dell’oca e oggi, in effetti, abbiamo pagato pegno perchè siamo tornati molto, ma molto indietro nella storia.
Sicuramente si potrebbe partire dalla questione morale, per ritrovarsi in quel percorso comune che vede nella costituzione repubblicana, nei suoi valori fondamentali, nella difesa della tripartizione dei po-teri dello stato, soprattutto dell’autonomia e dell’indipendenza della magistratura il comun denominatore sul quale cominciare a declinare un programma vero che porti ad un partito vero.
Non credo, infatti, che oggi un partito della sinistra non abbia nulla da dire sulla scuola pubblica, sulla laicità dello stato, sul lavoro come diritto di ogni cittadino e sulle libertà sindacali, sulla sicurezza sui posti di lavoro, sul diritto alla salute, sul sistema dell’informazione, su un sistema elettorale che restituisca la libertà di scelta al cittadino. Se l’economia poteva essere fino a qualche tempo fa un alibi formidabile per tenere le strade delle sinistre separate, il libero mercato, credo che sia ormai chiaro a tutti, è un sistema teorico, che esiste come termine di paragone sui manuali di economia e che nella pratica si è tradotto in libero e indiscriminato arbitrio di consumo di risorse naturali, libero e indiscriminato sfruttamento dell’uomo; che una regolamentazione del mercato finanziario sia necessaria, considerato anche il fatto che gli interventi di salvataggio posti in essere, per cercare di salvare capra e cavoli insieme al caviale dei banchieri, da insospettabili feudi del liberismo più sfrenato è comunque incommensurabilmente più costosa. Unità della sinistra: il tempo è adesso. Il progetto di costruzione, in Italia, di un nuovo soggetto politico che dia a questo paese una sinistra capace di misurarsi con le sfide odierne, di guardare al futuro, comincia a prendere forma e sostanza proprio con la chiamata a raccolta lanciata giorni addietro da Vendola, Fava, Mussi, Bandoli, Moni Ovadia, Berlinguer e tantissimi che si aggiungono di ora in ora nella sottoscrizione di un documento unitario “Per la Sinistra”.
In questo quadro generale si “muovono” anche le forze politiche del centro-sinistra provinciale che assorbito e superato lo choc da abbandono, in conseguenza del diniego a candidarsi del presidente Pellegrino, cercano nuove strategie per garantire la vittoria del centrosinistra nella primavera del 2009. Si perché noi, 50 e 60enni, il mondo lo abbiamo cambiato davvero, e a dispetto di chi denigra e gode allo stesso tempo dei frutti di quella stagione di profonde mutazioni, lo abbiamo cambiato in meglio. Si va a destra quando chi paga, non solo i costi di una macchina statale sempre meno efficiente, ma anche la scuola e la sanità per i ceti sociali meno abbienti, vede minacciato il proprio tenore di vita.

Si va a destra quando sale la percezione d’insicurezza anche fisica; bastano pochissimi reati compiuti da qualche immigrato, abilmente cavalcati dalla propaganda di destra, ed il gioco e fatto. E non ha importanza alcuna se la maggioranza dei delitti, sia per numero che per efferatezza, vengono invece compiuti da italiani.

I segnali vanno dati con azioni concrete che soddisfino le attese dei cittadini, Cacciari sostiene che la sicurezza e la legalità non hanno colore; Cofferati a Bologna, Dominici a Firenze, Zanonato a Padova, sindaci di sinistra che hanno intrapreso provvedimenti “incolore” hanno indignato molte coscienze.
